Crimson Summer by Heather Graham

 



Crimson Summer is the first book I’ve read by Heather Graham, which I’m shocked about since she’s written over a 100 books. Crimson Summer picks up after Danger in Numbers and while you can read this and still enjoy it, I feel reading that one first would have enhanced Crimson Summer for me. I happen to love reading anything about cults and this one had all the creepiness and believability that I needed to end up really enjoying this. Another thing I enjoyed was Amy. She was a take no prisoners, tough woman who modeled strength and courage.

  I am having a hard time writing a review for The Good Son by Jacquelyn Mitchard. As I was reading, I kept hoping to get to know the characters better but so much time was spent in Thea’s head, I never got to know any other character, other than the surface view. I felt Thea’s thoughts were very disjointed and there were times that I wasn’t sure what time period she was thinking about. The mystery at the core of the story is what kept me reading and that part of the book was satisfying.   Synopsis:  What do you do when the person you love best becomes unrecognizable to you? The Vacation by John Marrs

  The Vacation by John Marrs is a fast paced story, one with many twists. Though there are many POV’s, Marrs keeps them all interesting and weaves them together brilliantly. I’ve personally never been a backpacker and I can promise you after this book, I never will be. At one point, I said, Chapter 39 (IYKYK) because I was so surprised. Engaging and suspenseful, this is worth the read.
