Small Town, Big Magic by Hazel Beck is a wonderful story about a hometown that isn’t quite what it seems. I love that this is the first in the series because I can’t wait to see what happens next. I was also shocked that this was a debut with how well written and descriptive everything was. Emerson is smart, strong and witty, the perfect main character!

  A romance novel with action? This is a sub-genre I had no idea I would enjoy as much as I did. Raiders of the Lost Heart plays on the big adventure movies and does it in a way that the entire story feels fresh. Enemies to lovers is another trope that plays out. Corrie and Ford have great chemistry and their rivalry sets the tone for how hard they fall. This was a really enjoyable read.  Housebroke by Jaci Burton pairs a millionaire and a woman just trying to get by. Dogs are heavily featured in this so if that’s not something you are interested in, keep that in mind. This was a fast read, one that needs a bit of suspension of disbelief. Linc was a great character and he matched well with Hazel.

The Witches of Moonshyne Manor by Bianca Marais

  Witches of Moonshyne Manor by Bianca Mairais is just delightful. Such a fun, engaging story. It was different getting to read about 80 year old women and I liked their points of view. However, Persephone was my favorite. The dynamic that she added to the story elevated this book for me! This book is a mix of Golden Girls and Practical Magic so if that’s your bag, you’ll be very happy with this.

The Vacation by John Marrs

  The Vacation by John Marrs is a fast paced story, one with many twists. Though there are many POV’s, Marrs keeps them all interesting and weaves them together brilliantly. I’ve personally never been a backpacker and I can promise you after this book, I never will be. At one point, I said, Chapter 39 (IYKYK) because I was so surprised. Engaging and suspenseful, this is worth the read.
